Michelle Slack

Biography

Michelle Slack is a Catastrophic Case Manager and Physiotherapist with over twenty years of clinical experience, specialising in neurological rehabilitation and complex injury. Her practice is centred on coordinating structured, outcome-focused rehabilitation pathways for adults with catastrophic and life-changing conditions.

Michelle has extensive expertise supporting individuals with acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injury and functional neurological disorder, alongside complex orthopaedic trauma, learning disabilities and long-term conditions. She is highly skilled in conducting detailed assessments and developing robust, goal-driven rehabilitation plans that prioritise independence, safety and quality of life.

Her clinical background includes senior leadership roles within the NHS, where she spent over a decade as a Specialist Team Lead Physiotherapist managing services for individuals with complex neurological and developmental needs. Alongside this, she practised as a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist, delivering advanced rehabilitation and managing the physical, cognitive and behavioural challenges associated with complex injury and disability.

More recently, Michelle has led the development of innovative rehabilitation services within challenging environments, including the design and delivery of a specialist service for individuals with complex needs in custody settings. This work demonstrates her ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, implement structured clinical frameworks and ensure safe, effective rehabilitation delivery across varied and complex contexts.

Her approach combines clinical depth with strong coordination, working closely with multidisciplinary professionals, families and legal teams to ensure rehabilitation programmes are practical, sustainable and aligned with long-term outcomes. Michelle’s practice is defined by structured planning, clinical expertise and a clear focus on delivering measurable improvements in function and independence.
