Biography Leandra Forde is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Catastrophic Case Manager with over 21 years of clinical experience specialising in paediatric neurology and neurorehabilitation. She has dedicated the majority of her career to supporting infants, children and young people with complex neurological, developmental and physical disabilities, delivering evidence-based rehabilitation that promotes independence, participation and long-term quality of life. Alongside her clinical expertise, Leandra has extensive experience working within medico-legal rehabilitation, collaborating closely with case managers, solicitors, deputies and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate rehabilitation for children with life-changing injuries. Leandra has extensive expertise in managing children with acquired and traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, genetic syndromes, epilepsy, autism, ADHD and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). She also supports children with highly complex medical needs, including tracheostomies, gastrostomy and jejunostomy feeding, vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation, intrathecal therapies and specialist seating and mobility equipment. Her rehabilitation programmes are tailored to each child’s physical, cognitive and developmental needs, ensuring therapy remains functional, goal-focused and responsive throughout every stage of rehabilitation. As both a treating clinician and Catastrophic Case Manager, Leandra coordinates multidisciplinary rehabilitation across healthcare, education and community settings. She undertakes detailed assessments, develops rehabilitation programmes, provides expert clinical reports, contributes to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), advises on specialist equipment and home adaptations, and works collaboratively with therapists, schools, social care professionals and medical teams to ensure every aspect of rehabilitation is aligned around the child’s individual goals. Her extensive medico-legal experience enables her to contribute confidently within litigation cases while maintaining a strong focus on achieving meaningful outcomes for children and their families. Alongside her clinical practice, Leandra has held senior leadership positions including Clinical Director of her own specialist physiotherapy practice and Therapy Lead within specialist education settings. She has supervised multidisciplinary teams, supported clinical governance and service development, and trained healthcare professionals, support staff and families in delivering effective neurological rehabilitation. Her experience spans NHS, independent practice, specialist schools and community services, providing a comprehensive understanding of the rehabilitation journey from acute intervention through to long-term community support.
