We are looking for Adult Occupational Therapists with extensive experience (8+ years) in one of the following: Managing care packages in the community Visual impairment/sight loss Neurological injuries Spinal injuries Amputations Managing multi-disciplinary teams Dealing with equipment needs Working with clients who have catastrophic injuries Respiratory, asbestos/mesothelioma conditions Cancer and Palliative Care We are particularly looking for experts in the following geographical areas: North England – Manchester, Liverpool, Cumbria, Leeds, Hull and surrounding areas Midlands – Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and surrounding areas Somerset, Devon and Cornwall Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire What’s on offer: A regular flow of referrals to suit your availability Excellent remuneration and flexible hours A self-employed contract that will work around your other work commitments Access to a professional peer support group and continuous development Industry-leading training package and ongoing support to all of our associates Responsibilities: As an Expert Witness, you will have a unique opportunity to use your specialist experience to assist courts and legal professionals in liability and compensation decisions in serious personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Depending on areas of expertise, you may be required to: Perform a detailed assessment of the Claimant’s disability and performance in daily life tasks and roles Prepare detailed quantum reports, evidencing the client’s needs, your professional recommendations with objective justification of associated costs for past, present and future needs Consider evidence documentation and understand complex liability, causation, condition and prognosis evidence to assimilate the information to form one’s own opinions You will be required to follow through the case from the initial instruction to case settlement, including: timely review of new evidence and documentation, responding to queries from legal professionals, attending case conferences with barristers, participating in joint experts’ meetings, and writing statements, as well as providing oral evidence in Court if required.
