Posted by Dilara Rogers

Kathryn Rowe

Delivered by: Kathryn Rowe, Physiotherapist Case Manager and Expert Witness

What the session covers

The session provides a practical introduction to neuroanatomy for legal teams. It explains the roles of different areas of the brain, what can happen when those areas are damaged, and how this may affect the way a client presents during litigation, rehabilitation and case management.

The session can also explore diffuse axonal injury and why widespread brain injury can be so damaging, particularly where the effects are not immediately obvious but have a significant impact on function, behaviour and participation in rehabilitation.

  • The roles of different areas of the brain
  • How brain damage may affect presentation
  • Communication and understanding difficulties
  • Behavioural and emotional changes
