Alex Henson is a highly experienced Expert Witness Speech and Language Therapist with over twenty years’ specialist practice in neurological healthcare across acute, inpatient and community neurorehabilitation settings. She specialises in acquired brain injury, complex cognitive-communication disorders, aphasia, neurobehavioural rehabilitation and disorders of consciousness, including unresponsive wakefulness states.

Alex has held senior leadership roles within NHS services, including Joint Professional Lead for Speech and Language Therapy, and has chaired national reviews in specialised neurorehabilitation. Her clinical expertise includes advanced assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders, with proficiency in videofluoroscopy and fibre-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES).

Since 2015, Alex has provided impartial, CPR-compliant expert reports for legal proceedings, working evenly with Claimant and Defendant teams. Her reports are detailed, analytically robust and grounded in extensive clinical leadership and published work, including contributions to national RCSLT guidance and specialist textbooks on acquired brain injury.
