Kate Dyoss, Registered Nurse and Catastrophic Case Manager at Harrison Associates

Biography

Kate Dyoss is a Registered Nurse and Catastrophic Case Manager with over nineteen years of clinical experience across acute and community settings. Her practice is centred on the management of high-dependency adults with catastrophic injury, delivering structured, clinically robust and outcome-focused rehabilitation within complex home environments.

Kate has developed specialist expertise in complex neurological and spinal presentations, including acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and locked-in syndrome. Her work focuses on the mobilisation and ongoing management of high-dependency care packages, ensuring safe transition from specialist rehabilitation units into community-based settings.

Her approach is grounded in detailed clinical assessment and the delivery of highly structured care plans, supported by advanced competencies in tracheostomy care, ventilation, invasive lines and catheterisation. She works closely with NHS Continuing Healthcare teams, commissioners, therapists and legal representatives to ensure that care delivery aligns with clinical standards, funding frameworks and long-term rehabilitation objectives.

Kate brings significant leadership experience, having held senior roles including Clinical Lead Nurse and Head of Nursing within complex care providers. She has overseen teams managing high-dependency caseloads, with responsibility for clinical governance, regulatory compliance, CQC readiness, supervision and service mobilisation. Her acute background in emergency medicine and critical care underpins strong clinical decision-making and risk management in complex community settings.

Her practice is defined by structured coordination, clinical depth and a clear focus on delivering safe, sustainable and outcome-driven rehabilitation for individuals with significant neurological and spinal injuries requiring high-level care.
