Biography Katie Brennan is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and Expert Witness with over a decade of clinical experience across NHS and independent practice. She specialises in working with children and young people with complex developmental and acquired conditions, including cerebral palsy, brain injury, neuromuscular disorders and complex orthopaedic presentations. Katie’s practice is centred on detailed functional assessment and the practical delivery of rehabilitation and care. She has extensive experience in the assessment and provision of therapy programmes, specialist equipment and seating, postural management and environmental adaptations across both home and educational settings. Her work includes manual handling risk assessment, 24-hour postural management planning and close collaboration with local authorities and wheelchair services to ensure coordinated and sustainable support. As a Highly Specialist clinician, Katie leads complex paediatric caseloads within NHS services, including early years pathways, where she is responsible for standardising care and supporting best practice across multidisciplinary teams. She has also undertaken independent clinical work, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder and ADHD, providing a broad understanding of both physical and neurodevelopmental presentations. Fully trained in the Civil Procedure Rules, Katie provides independent expert evidence across both claimant and defendant instructions. Her reports are objective, clinically robust and focused on delivering clear, reasoned opinions to assist the Court in determining matters of care, rehabilitation and long-term functional need. She maintains her professional standards through ongoing CPD and active clinical practice.
