Louise Sims is an Occupational Therapist and Expert Witness with over ten years of experience across community NHS, social care and independent practice. She specialises in complex adult presentations, with particular expertise in acquired brain injury, dementia, progressive neurological conditions, and complex physical and cognitive impairment.

Louise brings a holistic, function-led approach to expert evidence, informed by extensive experience in community rehabilitation and long-term care planning. She has worked with individuals presenting with advanced Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis, orthopaedic conditions, cancer and palliative care needs, as well as those experiencing significant cognitive decline and serious mental illness. Her work centres on understanding the interaction between physical, cognitive and emotional factors, ensuring that care and rehabilitation recommendations are proportionate, sustainable and aligned with long-term outcomes.

Her experience includes developing and coordinating comprehensive care packages in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on supporting independence and improving quality of life. She has managed complex caseloads within community mental health and rehabilitation services, undertaking detailed functional and cognitive assessments, home assessments and long-term care planning for individuals with diverse and multifaceted needs.

Fully trained in the Civil Procedure Rules, Louise provides independent expert evidence across both claimant and defendant instructions. Her reports are objective, clinically robust and focused on delivering clear, reasoned opinions to assist the Court in determining matters of care, rehabilitation and functional need. She maintains her professional standards through continuous professional development and active clinical engagement.
